Lodge’s Test Kitchen Manager Cooks Up Hearty Classics

LIVE episode highlights Chef Collection as corporate gifts

More than ever, people all across America are cooking at home, out of necessity and also to add a little bit of creativity to their everyday lives. Because of this, cookware makes for perfect corporate gifts for employees, business partners, and customers, whether they’re experienced chefs or novice cooks. The November 5 episode of Incentive Concepts LIVE featured several of Lodge Cast Iron’s cookware products as well as a mouth-watering recipe for a hearty, classic dish.

Versatile cast iron incentive rewards for every occasion

Hosts Andy Hudson (Director of Marketing) and Kevin Hagan (VP, Sales) welcomed Lodge’s National Sales Manager Greg Myers and Kris Stubblefield, the brand’s Test Kitchen Manager. Broadcasting live from Lodge’s Wow Room (where many of the brand’s top products are showcased), Myers shared that Lodge Cast Iron has been in business for 123 years and counting, and it has remained a family-owned company the entire time. Lodge is also the last cast iron cookware manufacturer of size in the United States. Inspire performance with an incentive rewards program.

Myers highlighted the many benefits of cooking with cast iron, namely the versatility of the Chef Collection – it cooks dishes with even heat; it can be used in home kitchens, on grills, and in restaurants; and it even adds a bit of iron to your food. The Chef Collection is chef-designed, making every piece ideal for everyday cooks and professionals alike. Lodge’s products can also be used to make a variety of dishes, from savory meats and stews to sweet treats.

Since 2002, all of Lodge Cast Iron’s cookware has been pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, and all of the brand’s products are American-made, at its foundry in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Myers pointed out that, in addition to adding heirloom-quality products to your kitchen, buying from Lodge keeps the community of South Pittsburg (pop.: approximately 3,000) up and running.

Hearty classics made with cast iron gifts

In the next segment, Stubblefield launched into a three-part cooking demo, during which he made a Dutch Baby with sautéed spinach, blistered tomatoes, New York strip steak, and eggs. Throughout the demo, he used both the 12” Chef Collection Skillet and the 10” Skillet from Lodge’s core collection. He started with the batter for the Dutch Baby before seasoning the steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and deep searing it. He then fried the eggs and added all the ingredients atop the finished Dutch Baby for a delicious, photo-ready meal.

During the demo, Stubblefield pointed out some of the key features of the Chef Collection Skillet, including its sloped, lower side walls, which make sautéing easier, and its ergonomic handles. Throughout the broadcast, viewers had a chance to win a cast iron gift of their very own: the Chef Collection Everyday Pan.
